What to Expect Next from Grief & Joy

Grief & Joy has never been about rushing. In fact, opening this business has been about 5 years in the making! Although, I really only started putting it all together in May 2025.

It’s about showing up authentically—through loss, change, laughter, and the seasons of life that don’t fit neatly into a box. As we head into the new year, I want to share what’s coming next, what’s still unfolding, and how you can stay connected as Grief & Joy begins to grow.

A Gentle, Intentional Soft Launch (After the First of the Year)

After the first of the year, Grief & Joy will be entering a soft launch phase.

This isn’t a big, flashy launch. It’s a thoughtful opening—for friends & family. During this time, you’ll help me test out the site and my processes, be the first to see and purchase initial Grief & Joy products, and provide feedback to help make Grief & Joy the best it can be!

Why a soft launch?

  • I still have a jobby job (hopefully, not for too much longer!) and need to balance Grief & Joy with that work.
  • I am in menopause and turns out I am no longer interested in --or able to--work a shit ton of hours.
  • I like to play, travel, and exercise so I need time for that too!
  • But really, I am counting on all of your help to make Grief & Joy as awesome as possible before I start sharing more widely.

Looking Ahead: Product Plans for 2026

While the soft launch focuses on usability and initial product feedback, I’m also thinking ahead.

2026 will bring expanded collections and deeper storytelling, with products that continue to sit at the intersection of grief, joy, humor, and real life.

Planned focus areas include:

  • More nuanced grief and widowhood products

  • Expanded menopause and midlife humor offerings

  • New empty nest and caregiving pieces

  • Retirement and life-transition humor that honors identity shifts

  • “Because Life Happens” products for overlapping seasons

  • Giftable items designed to say what’s hard to say

The goal for 2026 isn’t just a lot of products—it’s those that resonate with our customers. Products that feel honest, validating, and make us laugh!

Thank You for Being Here

Grief & Joy exists because life happens and laughter and sorrow can coexist. Many of you have experienced this with me over the last six years and I have really appreciated that! You are all a part of why Grief & Joy exists today.

The next chapter is coming soon.
And I’m really glad you’re here for it.

Follow along (if you haven't already). Links are in the footer!
There’s more to come.
